A Dodge College Student Film Thesis
This is the part where most couples share their epic meet-cute. But since our ‘couple’ is fictional, here’s our version: a group of film students fell in love with an idea, and then decided to turn it into their thesis project.
Our Story
It all started with a phrase.
“Dedicated to those who teach. And to those who allow themselves to be taught.”
The idea was simple: take an uptight principal and drop him into a situation where he has to be the student. But not just any student. His unlikely teacher is the super-senior he's spent his whole career trying to "fix." Their complex relationship unfolds through late-night dance lessons in the school gym. Yes, you read that right. Because the principal’s wedding is around the corner, and he's desperate to get in dance shape.
At its core, this story is an ode to the teachers in our lives, and the many forms they take.
Parents who stubbornly believe in us. Kids who unknowingly school us. Mentors who light a fire under us. That process, that messy, beautiful exchange, is our story. Because learning is not a path we walk alone, but a dance we share.
This film is our chance to peek behind the scenes of the grown-ups in our schools. When you’re young, you don’t see their full story. And it’s about time we gave them the whole floor.
